Avril Lavigne started her own clothing line, Abbey Dawn in 2008. It was named after a childhood nickname of Avril from her dad. The clothing line was described to be a "Junior's Lifestyle Brand", but has now gone on to also accomodate older girls.
It was first launched in July 2008, the retail locations exclusively in the USA. The next retail location was a boutique in Tokyo, Japan, in a Larofet department store and is now the best-selling boutique in the whole department store. In 2009, Avril Lavigne held her first fashion show during New York Fashion Week in September, as seen in the bottom left. The original stores that sold her clothes were Kohl's in the USA and Boathouse in Canada. Now it has opened up and started shipping overseas to Europe, instead of just North America. Jackson Distribution takes care of the distribution in Europe and Black Generation distributes the clothing in North America. They also have an online store, www.AbbeyDawn.com, but it is not widely used. |
